Franz Reindl is a former ice hockey forward, who played 666 matches from 1972-88 in the Bundesliga (scoring 423 goals) for SC Riessersee and Sportbund Rosenheim. He won three German Championships, and was the league’s top scorer in 1982. Reindl also earned 181 international caps, scoring 38 goals, while participating in eight World Championships and three consecutive Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 1976. His career as a coach began in 1988 at SC Riessersee before becoming an assistant coach for the national team from 1991-94. In 1992 he became Sports Director, in 1996 General Manager, and in 2004 General Secretary of the Deutscher Eishockey Bund (DEB). He was later the Chief Organizer of the 2010 Ice Hockey World Championships in Germany, and has been inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame. |
