Biography

Hec Edmundson won the AAU 880 in 1909, and competed in the 400 and 800 at the 1912 Olympic Games, but he was best known as a basketball coach. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, the [University of Idaho] (1916-18), but then spent 28 years at the [University of Washington] (1920-47), where the field house was named in his honor. He also coached track for a few years.

Personal Bests: 400 – 50.2 (1912); 880y – 1:55.2 (1909).
