Plot Synopsis
Pat Jackson, who made his name with such wartime documentaries as Western Approaches, intelligently directed this ingenious low-budget crime drama.
Convict Fredrick Russell (Alan Dobie), inherits seven keys from a fellow prisoner who died in a car crash, an accountant who had stolen £20,000 and never revealed its whereabouts. On his release, with the help of the accountant’s secretary, Shirley Steele (Jeannie Carson), Russell begins eliminating the identity of all the keys in order to find the loot. He discovers that the accountant was being blackmailed by model Natalie Worth (Delphi Lawrence), who knew that he was covering up for a hit-and-run accident committed by his son.
