The Inter-American and European Human Rights Journal / Revista Interamericana y Europea de Derechos
Humanos aims to offer an international platform for research in the field of human rights of relevance for
(Latin) America and

Europe. Situated on the crossroads between both continents, the journal is well-placed
to be a place of exchange of ideas and views between academic scholars and practicians in the field of human
rights from both European and (Latin) American universities, research institutions, non-governmental
organisations, etc. General topics on human rights relevant for the European and (Latin) American context
shall be considered for publication. In the same way, topics from other continents will also be considered
for publication if relevant for the European and (Latin) American context. The journal focuses both on human
rights law issues as well as interdisciplinary issues. Its editorial board is composed of researchers from
the partner universities and institutions of the Inter-American and European Human Rights Network and
external experts in the field of human rights. The Inter-American and European Human Rights Network / Red
Interamericana y Europea de Derechos Humanos was set up in 2005 with the purpose of bringing together
(Latin) American and European universities and institutions in order to build up and strengthen their
capacity in the field of human rights and to improve teaching and research capabilities so that a superior
level of education in human rights can be reached. The Network is momentarily composed of 16 universities
and other institutions from both (Latin) America and Europe.
