TwitterGadget - Twitter Client

TwitterGadget is a clean, robust, web 2.0 style client for Twitter.com, designed to submit status updates to Twitter via your iGoogle homepage or Gmail Account.

TwitterGadget is completely AJAX based, meaning, at the user-specified refresh interval, only the status update content is refreshed in-line, on the gadget page. This means reduced bandwidth utilization between you and Twitter.com, while providing for a more user-friendly experience.

TwitterGadget enables the user to toggle on/off various display elements such as user thumbnails, timestamps, and post sources. Refresh intervals can be set from 3 to 30 minutes, or manual only.

Additional information about a poster is available, at a glance, by hovering over their thumbnail image. In addition, hovering over a thumbnail provides icons for re-tweeting the user's post, adding or removing their post from your 'favorites' tab, as well as visiting the user's twitter page.
When the status input box is empty, you can issue @ replies by clicking on the username of a poster at the front of the tweet, or a direct message by clicking on their name a second time. A third click clears the status message area.

Clicking the username of another poster at the front of the timeline, once you have populated your status message, will simply append an @+username to the end of your current message, facilitating correspondence with multiple followers. All URLs are hyperlinked in the timeline, and any @+username references, when clicked in the timeline, takes you to the respective user's Twitter page.

Insert symbols, dingbats and emoticons into your tweets using the TwitterGadget pulldown menu, accessible via the down arrow button located in the bottom left hand corner of the status box.

With TwitterGadget, you can automatically shorten URLs, in-line, using Trunc.it.
