Current Version: 1.0.0

flickrfox is an extension for Firefox (versions 1.0 - 1.6) and Flock that lets you browse your Flickr photostreams in a sidebar. You can find development updates on my blog. If you find a bug or have a feature request, please email me.

Install!

You can install flickrfox from the Mozilla Update Site or, if you’re really impatient you can grab it here.

Once it’s installed and you’ve restarted your browser, you can activate the sidebar by selecting ‘FlickrFox’ from the Tools menu. You may also want to drag the flickrfox icon onto your toolbar to make turning it on and off more convenient:

  1. Right Click on one of your existing toolbar buttons and select ‘Customize…’
  2. A new window will open that contains items you can drag onto your toolbar.
  3. Find the flickrfox icon.. It looks like this:
  4. Drag it onto the desired spot on your toolbar. That will be it’s new home.

Features

  • Provides easy access to your photostreams (including groups you belong to).
  • Lets you search tagged photos.
  • Checks for new photos in the background and displays them automatically.
  • Adaptive refresh rates conserve bandwidth if the selected photostream hasn’t changed.

Known Issues

None at this time.
